Love Your Sober Year
A Seasonal Guide to Alcohol-Free Living.

About LYSY:

This book is for any woman that is sober or sober curious. It is here to support you on your journey to alcohol-free living.

The seasons are there for us all to use; the patterns and cycles offer a reference point that can help us as we navigate our sobriety. By tuning into nature’s ebb and flow, we can use its power to explore and support our sober lives in a long-term and sustainable way.

Sober coaches Kate Baily and Mandy Manners offer positive and empowering ways to harness this power, exploring how old wisdoms, new science and the female experience can help guide you.

Packed with tasks to shift your mindset, questions for reflection, nervous system regulation techniques, as well as gratitude and intention setting exercises, this book is designed to be a constant companion nurturing you in your choice to be alcohol-free.

Love Yourself Sober
A Self-Care Guide to Alcohol-Free Living for Busy Mothers

“During our own early, child-rearing, years we both realised the party was over and that we had a problematic relationship with alcohol. We had been relying on 'wine o’clock' to get us through the rewarding, but often isolating and emotionally demanding, job of being a stay at home mum and then returning to work. We’d been spinning plates, responding to needs and frankly never getting a minute to ourselves.

Our lives contained many differences, but the catalyst for both our problems with booze came after becoming mothers. This book aims to help women honour their pivotal role as the emotional backbone of the family and apply their own oxygen masks first.

This book can be applicable to any main care giver, and we recognise 100% the roles others play in raising children, but both being mothers ourselves we felt we should speak from our own experiences.”

Love Sober Podcast - Sober Podcast

Love Sober Podcast.

The Love Sober podcast, for the sober & sober curious was set up in May 2018 to reach out to people like Kate and I. There was a need for a new conversation – not one of ‘addiction’, ‘relapse’ and ‘recovery’, which had previously been the standard text on the subject of booze, but one about the huge grey area of problematic drinking instead. Whether binge drinking or drinking to self-medicate stress, depression or anxiety, we talked about it all with the vibe of a comfy chat over a cuppa.

The podcast is a mixture of handy tips, personal experience and interviews with special guests. Over four years myself and fellow coach Kate Baily unpicked our journeys and navigated our lives as sober women and Mums. I stepped back from Love Sober in May 2022. The whole back catalogue of episodes is available if you click the button below.

What People Are Saying…

Ladies I love your podcast. Just two sober girls sharing intelligent and thought provoking conversation on all things sober, self care and what it is to feel the pressures of being different faces of the women we have to be everyday. Only negative is I wish you would do more so I don’t run out so quickly. Thanks to you both for helping me on my sober journey – keep up the good work!

I love this podcast and love the way you're supporting sober and sober-curious people. This is a beautiful new world, where the stigma of recovery is lessening, and people who need to find out how and why to get sober have access to so many more answers than we used to have.

I love these two – what a fantastic podcast. They make sobriety sound fun + exciting + brilliant, not dull and boring or anything else we’re led to believe that being alcohol free means. They are so warm and down to earth, I can totally identify with them and their journeys. In a world where we’re bombarded with “Mummy needs wine” type memes every single day, it’s so good to hear that there is another way. A positive, amazing, fun world that I want to be part of I can’t wait to hear what they do with this, really look forward to hearing more.”

I love spending time with the two of you, usually on my dog walks! I really enjoy the informal yet well informed chats you have, they never fail to deepen my understanding and resolve to stay sober.”
